Novae Baghurst is the Co-Director of CreweCreates CIC and an arts professional with over 20 years of experience. She specialises in managing creative programmes that connect communities with the arts, focusing on well-being and expression.
Formerly leading award-winning programmes for fifteen years at The Whitworth Gallery, Manchester, she has also worked as a freelance Creative Practitioner, delivering arts projects in schools and early years settings.
Novae has consulted internationally on community engagement and designed artist development programmes. A visual artist in sculpture and illustration, Novae founded ‘The Playful Art Company’ and has promoted the arts in Crewe through various roles, including as Project Manager for Crewe Creative Champions, Creative Producer for the Ly2 Creative Connections programme, a placemaking initiative funded by Arts Council England and has worked as an artist as part of Crewe Town Council’s Operation Summer.
Jamie Chalmers

Jamie Chalmers, Co-Director of CreweCreates CIC, is a thought-leader within the modern embroidery and textile art movement. He has written two books on the subject, conducted talks and workshops in the UK and abroad, and has been a guest lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, North Carolina State University and the Royal School of Needlework.
Jamie is the host of two podcasts that feature in-depth conversations with artists and professional crafters. He has curated exhibitions, run craft events and mentored creatives and students. He loves inspiring people to try crafts to discover their own future passions. He is the chair of Crewe Cultural Forum.
